Kaguya hime no monogatari review. The animation masterpiece of the decade. Takahata is going out on top. The fabled north American distribution deal between Disney and Studio Ghibli (apparently) applies only to the works of Myazaki; north American distribution of this is being handled by GKIDS. So the heavyweight marketing of Pixar/Disney isn't behind it. But don't be fooled by its "art-house" distribution or its relative obscurity - this is a really big deal.
It's an "epic" having taken eight years to produce and clocking in at well over two hours. I haven't seen the words "production committee" in credits since 'Akira. that means it was too big for any one normal producer, so several companies had to form a "consortium" Studio Ghibli itself, a TV network, a foreign corporation, a movie studio, and three others. And the animation work itself was so large that parts of it were farmed out to _nine_ other studios.
There are two versions: an English dub of the soundtrack with most things written in English characters (although in general dubs suck, animation is often an exception) and a Japanese soundtrack with written English subtitles and most things (including virtually all the credits) written in Japanese characters. If the names of the voice actors you hear sound vaguely familiar, that's the English dub version. In fact, if you're viewing this in a theater, unless the theater is pretty sophisticated, you won't even have a choice - you'll see only the English dub version. And that's okay.
You get what you're used to from Studio Ghibli: powerful and independent women characters, a strong bond with the natural world, seamless switches back and forth between reality and fantasy, rootedness in tradition and folklore, and the music of Joe Hisaishi. Add to that some themes I associate specifically with Takahata: portrayals of "reality" even when it's quite sad, nostalgia, an acceptance and open portrayal of the concept of the "cycle of life" and ambivalence toward tradition and especially patriarchy (respecting and illustrating the good, while at the same time poking fun at the bad. Finally add a new twist I haven't seen in animation before: whole scenes where all the dialog, the visuals, and even the music, point to one interpretation. only to recast the whole thing in a different light at the end to reach a totally unexpected conclusion.
The animation is 2D and very intricate, but still appears hand-drawn. Outlines vary in thickness and density, and colored areas don't always reach exactly to an outline. It could be computer-drawn (as many apparently hand-drawn animations actually are these days) only if the computer made an awful lot of "mistakes. Interestingly, the figures and the backgrounds look exactly the same (not different styles of animation as is often the case. It's all colored with pastels. The end result looks somewhat as though 'My Neighbors the Yamadas' had been used as starting sketches which were then finished.
I thought my evaluation of "hand drawn" was vindicated when a whole screenful of the end credits was occupied with the names of all the in-betweeners. But then just a bit later the whole screen was again filled with one category of names, this time all the digital ink and painters. Sometimes what you'd expect to be computer-generated is in fact clearly hand drawn, as when shadows move just a bit awkwardly between the beginning and the end of a scene. Other times the effect really seems computer-generated, as when a character is seen in a side closeup crashing through vegetation with lots and lots of branches flying much faster than anyone could draw them, or as when there's a cross-fade between scenes. I could never even guess though how it had been done when occasionally I could see what was behind a bit of translucent cloth.

Baz momentalno postaje No. 1 među Endijevim igračkama što Vudiju i nije prijalo. Prica o igrackama 1 from Crtaci on Vimeo. Komentari.

You should watch fate/zero and fate/stay night from studio ufotable its just masterpiece. Kaguya hime no monogatari soundtrack. Just saw the movie tonight, and a couple nights ago for the first time, as my theater's playing it for Ghibli Fest 2019. I had to go by myself, as none of my friends like anime, but whatever. I've cried more watching this movie than any other movie I've seen. I stayed in my seat through all the credits not just because I wanted to hear all the music, but also because I couldn't stop crying and didn't want anyone to see me. This movie has seriously torn me up inside. I can't stop thinking about it, no other film has affected me like it. It's the best movie I've ever seen, I seriously love every second of it.

In this cutthroat industry, they struggle to keep their financial needs from compromising the people in their care. 2019 year midnight family tree. Adam Driver Is THE GREAT actor of our generation. 2019 year midnight family images.

I still havent seen 1917. but so far for me. this movie alone should get the best cinematography at least. such and amazing work of art. Im glad at least won at cannes. November 10, 2019 11:40PM PT A family attempts to make a meager living operating a private ambulance in Mexico City in Luke Lorentzen’s gripping doc. If you think the health care system is flawed in America, “ Midnight Family ” provides a stark snapshot of how truly broken things are in Mexico City, where fewer than 45 public ambulances serve a population of 9 million. Luke Lorentzen ’s documentary takes up residence alongside the Ochoa family, who earn a living — just barely — by operating one of the metropolis’ numerous privately owned ambulances, ferrying the injured to hospitals in hopes of being monetarily rewarded for their efforts. Portraits of institutional dysfunction don’t come much more urgent, and quietly bleak, than this, which should help the film attract serious attention following its Sundance Film Festival premiere. Though medically unstable Fer is the nominal head of the Ochoa household, it’s his mature 17-year-old son Juan who — despite his youthful complexion (replete with braces) and habit of hugging a giant stuffed animal during interviews — who’s the clan’s real father figure. Theirs is a tenuous existence in which each night is spent hanging out in the ambulance waiting for a call. When emergency notifications arrive, they ignite harrowing races through Mexico City’s bustling streets, as the Ochoas try to beat rival EMT outfits to the scene and, then, to quickly strap the wounded into stretchers and load them into the back of their van. Such urgency comes, of course, from their desire to help people survive potentially serious injuries. Yet as Lorentzen’s film makes clear via the Ochoas’ day-to-day ordeal, it’s also driven by a desire to lock citizens into their care — which, ostensibly, will result in payment at the end of the ride. “Midnight Family” illustrates that compensation is rarely in the cards here, as haggling leads to either polite apologies from those unable to pay, or harsher rejections from those simply unwilling to reimburse the paramedics for their trouble. As if that weren’t problematic enough for Juan and Fern, who can only assume their duties if a public ambulance doesn’t show up first, the police are constant impediments, blocking them from accepting patients, citing them for unreasonable (and supposedly made-up) violations, and, at one point, threatening to arrest Juan if they aren’t paid a bribe. “Midnight Family” conveys all of this by sticking close to the Ochoas as they navigate an untenable state of affairs that links private ambulances, hospitals and police officers in a web of financial self-interest. Serving as his own cinematographer and editor, director Lorentzen generates intense empathy by following Juan and Fern during a breakneck attempt to get a young girl with a traumatic brain injury to a hospital — yelling at passing cars through a loudspeaker, and giving traffic directions to each other — while the girl’s terrified mother sits beside them in the front seat. At such moments, the film achieves a powerful measure of suspense that’s intricately tied up in its despairing sociological depiction of a system that’s come apart at the seams. Through it all, Juan counts every penny, spends frugally (on, for example, a dinner of tuna fish and corn), recounts his exploits to his girlfriend on the phone, and cares for his younger brother Josué, who prefers to spend his time ratting around in the back of the ambulance — laughing with friends, eating chips or catching a quick nap — rather than attending school. In his criticisms of his sibling’s delinquency, which come equipped with explanations about why an education is so important, Juan proves himself an everyday hero, trying at home and in the streets as a paramedic, to keep his — and everyone else’s — world together. There have been a lot of adaptations (primarily for TV) of megaselling author James Patterson’s pulpy fictions, none particularly memorable, with the possible exception of hit 1997 thriller “Kiss the Girls. ” But then, his books seldom aim for much more than disposable entertainment, so it’s apt enough that their screen versions should follow suit. By [... ] Maybe it’s the fault of “The Fault in Our Stars” that we assume, in the flourishing modern era of the young-adult genre, that one of the story’s romantic leads has to die in order to advance the dramatic stakes. Cretton was not feeling symptoms of COVID-19, but chose be tested as a precaution since he is [... ] Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson have shared an update from Australia, where they both remain in isolated care after testing positive for coronavirus. “Rita Wilson and I would like to thank everyone Down Under for taking such good care of us, ” Hanks wrote on social media. “We have COVID-19 and are in isolation so we [... ] In today’s film news roundup, film festivals in New Jersey and Idaho are being postponed, Oscar-nominated Jason Hall will direct wrestling drama “Unstoppable” and the StoryPlace Studios database of story content is unveiled. About With striking vérité camerawork, Midnight Family drops us directly into the frenetic nighttime emergency ecosystem of Mexico City. In the midst of high-speed ambulance rides, we meet the Ochoas, a ragtag family of private paramedics, who try desperately every day to be the first responders to critically injured patients. In a city where the government operates only 45 emergency ambulances for a population of over nine million, the family acts as a crucial—but unregistered—underground lifeline. But the job is riddled with police bribes and cutthroat competition. And even though the Ochoa family has a reputation for being trustworthy, they must reckon with the sudden escalation in bribes that could force them to wade into the ethically questionable practice of making money off of patients in dire straits. Midnight Family maintains a breathless speed and urgency throughout. The camera is always exactly where it needs to be, capturing the intense textures and thrills of rides and rescues until, with each repetition, a subtextual story emerges—of a family and a society under profound financial and moral duress. The Sunday Times The Sunday Times cover (13 July 2014) Type Sunday newspaper Format Broadsheet Owner(s) News UK Founder(s) Henry White Editor Emma Tucker [1] Founded 18 February 1821; 198 years ago (as The New Observer) Political alignment Conservative [2] Centre-right [3] Headquarters The News Building (London) Circulation 659, 699 (as of September 2019) [4] Sister newspapers The Times Website thesundaytimes Free online archives No The Sunday Times is the largest-selling British national newspaper in the " quality press " market category. It is published by Times Newspapers Ltd, a subsidiary of News UK, which is in turn owned by News Corp. Times Newspapers also publishes The Times. The two papers were founded independently and have been under common ownership only since 1966. They were bought by News International in 1981. The Sunday Times occupies a dominant position in the quality Sunday market; its circulation of just over 650, 000 exceeds that of its main rivals, the Sunday Telegraph and the Observer, combined. [5] [6] While some other national newspapers moved to a tabloid format in the early 2000s, The Sunday Times has retained the larger broadsheet format and has said that it will continue to do so. As of December 2019, it sells 75% more copies than its sister paper, The Times, which is published Monday to Saturday. [7] The Sunday Times has acquired a reputation for the strength of its investigative reporting – much of it by its Insight team – and also for its wide-ranging foreign coverage. [ citation needed] It has a number of popular writers, columnists and commentators including Jeremy Clarkson and Bryan Appleyard. A. Gill was a prominent columnist for many years. It was Britain's first multi-section newspaper and remains substantially larger than its rivals. A typical edition contains the equivalent of 450 to 500 tabloid pages. Besides the main news section, it has standalone News Review, Business, Sport, Money and Appointments sections – all broadsheet. There are three magazines ( The Sunday Times Magazine, Culture, and Style) and two tabloid supplements (Travel and Home). It has a website and separate digital editions configured for both the iOS operating system for the Apple iPad and the Android operating system for such devices as the Google Nexus, all of which offer video clips, extra features and multimedia and other material not found in the printed version of the newspaper. [ citation needed] The paper publishes The Sunday Times Rich List, an annual survey of the wealthiest people in Britain and Ireland, equivalent to the Forbes 400 list in the United States, and a series of league tables with reviews of private British companies, in particular The Sunday Times Fast Track 100. The paper also produces an annual league table of the best-performing state and independent schools at both junior and senior level across the United Kingdom, entitled Parent Power (with additional information available online), and an annual league table of British universities and a similar one for Irish universities. It publishes The Sunday Times Bestseller List of books in Britain, and a list of the "100 Best Companies to Work For", focusing on UK companies. It also organises The Sunday Times Oxford Literary Festival, held annually, and The Sunday Times Festival of Education, which takes place every year at Wellington College. [ citation needed] History [ edit] Plaque to the first edition of The Sunday Times at No. 4 Salisbury Court, London Founding and early history (1821–1915) [ edit] The paper began publication on 18 February 1821 as The New Observer, but from 21 April its title was changed to the Independent Observer. Its founder, Henry White, chose the name in an apparent attempt to take advantage of the success of the Observer, which had been founded in 1791, although there was no connection between the two papers. On 20 October 1822 it was reborn as The Sunday Times, although it had no relationship with The Times. [8] In January 1823, White sold the paper to Daniel Whittle Harvey, a radical politician. Under its new owner, The Sunday Times notched up several firsts: a wood engraving it published of the coronation of Queen Victoria in 1838 was the largest illustration to have appeared in a British newspaper; [9] in 1841, it became one of the first papers to serialise a novel: William Harrison Ainsworth 's Old St Paul's. [10] The paper was bought in 1887 by Alice Anne Cornwell who had made a fortune in mining in Australia and floating the Midas Mine Company of the London Stock Exchange. She bought the paper to promote her new company, The British and Australasian Mining Investment Company, and as a gift to her lover Frederick Stannard (‘Phil’) Robinson. Robinson was installed as editor and she married him in 1894. [11] She then sold it in 1893 to Frederick Beer, who already owned Observer. Beer appointed his wife, Rachel Sassoon Beer, as editor. She was already editor of Observer – the first woman to run a national newspaper – and continued to edit both titles until 1901. [12] The Kemsley years (1915–59) [ edit] There was a further change of ownership in 1903, and then in 1915 the paper was bought by William Berry and his brother, Gomer Berry, later ennobled as Lord Camrose and Viscount Kemsley respectively. Under their ownership, The Sunday Times continued its reputation for innovation: on 23 November 1930, it became the first Sunday newspaper to publish a 40-page issue and on 21 January 1940, news replaced advertising on the front page. [13] In 1943, the Kemsley Newspapers Group was established, with The Sunday Times becoming its flagship paper. At this time, Kemsley was the largest newspaper group in Britain. On 12 November 1945, Ian Fleming, who later created James Bond, joined the paper as foreign manager (foreign editor) and special writer. The following month, circulation reached 500, 000. [14] On 28 September 1958 the paper launched a separate Review section, becoming the first newspaper to publish two sections regularly. [15] The Thomson years (1959–81) [ edit] In 1959 the Kemsley group was bought by Lord Thomson, and in October 1960 circulation reached one million for the first time. [16] In another first, on 4 February 1962 the editor, Denis Hamilton, launched The Sunday Times Magazine. (At the insistence of newsagents, worried at the impact on sales of standalone magazines, it was initially called the "colour section" and did not take the name The Sunday Times Magazine until 9 August 1964. ) The cover picture of the first issue was of Jean Shrimpton wearing a Mary Quant outfit and was taken by David Bailey. The magazine got off to a slow start, but the advertising soon began to pick up, and, over time, other newspapers launched magazines of their own. In 1963, the Insight investigative team was established under Clive Irving. On 27 September 1964, the Business section was launched, making The Sunday Times Britain's first regular three-section newspaper. In September 1966, Thomson bought The Times, to form Times Newspapers Ltd (TNL). It was the first time both The Sunday Times and The Times had been brought under the same ownership. Harold Evans, editor from 1967 until 1981, established The Sunday Times as a leading campaigning and investigative newspaper. On 19 May 1968, the paper published its first major campaigning report on the drug Thalidomide, which had been reported by the Australian doctor William McBride in The Lancet in 1961 as associated with birth defects, and quickly withdrawn. The newspaper published a four-page Insight investigation, entitled The Thalidomide File, in the Weekly Review section. A compensation settlement for the UK victims was eventually reached with Distillers Company (now part of Diageo), which had distributed the drug in the UK. TNL was plagued by a series of industrial disputes at its plant at Gray's Inn Road in London, with the print unions resisting attempts to replace the old-fashioned hot-metal and labour-intensive Linotype method with technology that would allow the papers to be composed electronically. Thomson offered to invest millions of pounds to buy out obstructive practices and overmanning, but the unions rejected every proposal. As a result, publication of The Sunday Times and other titles in the group was suspended in November 1978. It did not resume until November 1979. Although journalists at The Times had been on full pay during the suspension, they went on strike demanding more money after production was resumed. Kenneth Thomson, the head of the company, felt betrayed and decided to sell. Evans tried to organise a management buyout of The Sunday Times, but Thomson decided instead to sell to Rupert Murdoch, who he thought had a better chance of dealing with the trade unions. The Murdoch years (1981–present) [ edit] Murdoch 's News International acquired the group in February 1981. Murdoch, an Australian who in 1985 became a naturalised American citizen, already owned The Sun and the News of the World, but the Conservative government decided not to refer the deal to the Monopolies and Mergers Commission, citing a clause in the Fair Trading Act that exempted uneconomic businesses from referral. The Thomson Corporation had threatened to close the papers down if they were not taken over by someone else within an allotted time, and it was feared that any legal delay to Murdoch's takeover might lead to the two titles' demise. In return, Murdoch provided legally binding guarantees to preserve the titles' editorial independence. Evans was appointed editor of The Times in February 1981 and was replaced at The Sunday Times by Frank Giles. In 1983, the newspaper bought the serialisation rights to publish the faked Hitler Diaries, thinking them to be genuine after they were authenticated by the own newspaper's own independent director, Hugh Trevor-Roper, the historian and author of The Last Days of Hitler. Under Andrew Neil, editor from 1983 until 1994, The Sunday Times took a strongly Thatcherite slant that contrasted with the traditional paternalistic conservatism expounded by Peregrine Worsthorne at the rival Sunday Telegraph. It also built on its reputation for investigations. Its scoops included the revelation in 1986 that Israel had manufactured more than 100 nuclear warheads [17] and the publication in 1992 of extracts from Andrew Morton 's book, Diana: Her True Story in Her Own Words. In the early 1990s, the paper courted controversy with a series of articles in which it rejected the role of HIV in causing AIDS. In January 1986, after the announcement of a strike by print workers, production of The Sunday Times, along with other newspapers in the group, was shifted to a new plant in Wapping, and the strikers were dismissed. The plant, which allowed journalists to input copy directly, was activated with the help of the Electrical, Electronic, Telecommunications and Plumbing Union (EETPU). The print unions posted pickets and organised demonstrations outside the new plant to try to dissuade journalists and others from working there, in what became known as the Wapping Dispute. The demonstrations sometimes turned violent. The protest ended in failure in February 1987. During Neil's editorship, a number of new sections were added: the annual The Sunday Times Rich List and the Funday Times, in 1989, (the latter stopped appearing in print and was relaunched as a standalone website in March 2006 but was later closed); Style & Travel, News Review and Arts in 1990, and Culture in 1992. In September 1994, Style and Travel became two separate sections. During Neil's time as editor, The Sunday Times backed a campaign to prove that HIV was not a cause of AIDS. [18] [19] [20] [21] In 1990, The Sunday Times serialized a book by an American conservative who rejected the scientific consensus on the causes of AIDS and argued that AIDS could not spread to heterosexuals. [20] Articles and editorials in The Sunday Times cast doubt on the scientific consensus, described HIV as a "politically correct virus" about which there was a "conspiracy of silence, " disputed that AIDS was spreading in Africa, claimed that tests for HIV were invalid, described the HIV/AIDS treatment drug AZT as harmful, and characterized the WHO as an "Empire-building AIDS [organisation]. " [20] The pseudoscientific coverage of HIV/AIDS in the Sunday Times led the scientific journal Nature to monitor the newspaper's coverage and to publish letters rebutting Sunday Times articles which the Sunday Times refused to publish. [20] In response to this, the Sunday Times published an article headlined "AIDS - why we won’t be silenced", which claimed that Nature engaged in censorship and "sinister intent". [20] In his 1996 book, Full Disclosure, Neil wrote that the HIV/AIDS denialism "deserved publication to encourage debate. " [20] That same year, he wrote that the Sunday Times had been vindicated in its coverage, "The Sunday Times was one of a handful of newspapers, perhaps the most prominent, which argued that heterosexual Aids was a myth. The figures are now in and this newspaper stands totally vindicated... The history of Aids is one of the great scandals of our time. I do not blame doctors and the Aids lobby for warning that everybody might be at risk in the early days, when ignorance was rife and reliable evidence scant. " He criticized the "AIDS establishment" and said "Aids had becme an industry, a job-creation scheme for the caring classes. " [22] John Witherow, who became editor at the end of 1994 (after several months as acting editor), continued the newspaper's expansion. A website was launched in 1996 and new print sections added: Home in 2001, and Driving in 2002, which in 2006 was renamed InGear. (It reverted to the name Driving from 7 October 2012, to coincide with the launch of a new standalone website, Sunday Times Driving. ) Technology coverage was expanded in 2000 with the weekly colour magazine Doors, and in 2003 The Month, an editorial section presented as an interactive CD-Rom. Magazine partworks were regular additions, among them 1000 Makers of Music, published over six weeks in 1997. John Witherow oversaw a rise in circulation to 1. 3 million [23] and reconfirmed The Sunday Times's reputation for publishing hard-hitting news stories – such as Cash for Questions in 1994 and Cash for Honours in 2006 and revelations of corruption at Fifa in 2010. [24] The newspaper's foreign coverage has been especially strong, and its reporters, Marie Colvin, Jon Swain, Hala Jaber, Mark Franchetti and Christina Lamb have dominated the Foreign Reporter of the Year category at the British Press Awards since 2000. [ citation needed] Marie Colvin, who worked for the paper from 1985, was killed in February 2012 by Syrian forces while covering the siege of Homs during that country's civil war. [25] In common with other newspapers, The Sunday Times has been hit by a fall in circulation, which has declined from a peak of 1. 3 million to just over 710, 000. It has a number of digital-only subscribers, which numbered 99, 017 by January 2019. [26] Edition number 9, 813 of The Sunday Times, published on 7 October 2012 During January 2013, Martin Ivens became acting editor of The Sunday Times in succession to John Witherow, who became the 'acting' editor of The Times at the same time. The independent directors rejected a permanent position for Ivens as editors to avoid any possible merger of The Sunday Times and daily Times titles. [27] Online presence [ edit] The Sunday Times has its own website. It previously shared an online presence with The Times, but in May 2010 they both launched their own sites to reflect their distinct brand identities. Since July 2010, the sites have charged for access. An iPad edition was launched in December 2010, and an Android version in August 2011. Since July 2012, the digital version of the paper has been available on Apple's Newsstand platform, allowing automated downloading of the news section. With over 500MB of content every week, it is the biggest newspaper app in the world. [ citation needed] The Sunday Times iPad app was named newspaper app of the year at the 2011 Newspaper Awards and has twice been ranked best newspaper or magazine app in the world by iMonitor. Various subscription packages exist, giving access to both the print and digital versions of the paper. On 2 October 2012, The Sunday Times launched Sunday Times Driving, a separate classified advertising site for premium vehicles that also includes editorial content from the newspaper as well as specially commissioned articles. It can be accessed without cost. [ edit] The Sunday Times Travel Magazine [ edit] This 164-page monthly magazine is sold separately from the newspaper and is Britain's best-selling travel magazine. [28] The first issue of The Sunday Times Travel Magazine was in 2003, [29] [30] and it includes news, features and insider guides. Notable stories [ edit] Some of the more notable or controversial stories published in The Sunday Times include: [31] Thalidomide, a drug prescribed to pregnant women to treat morning sickness, was withdrawn in 1961 following reports that it was linked to a number of birth defects. The Sunday Times spent many years campaigning for compensation for the victims, providing case studies and evidence of the side-effects. In 1968, the Distillers Company agreed to a multimillion-pound compensation scheme for the victims. [ citation needed] The paper sponsored Francis Chichester 's single-handed circumnavigation of the world under sail in 1966–67, and the Sunday Times Golden Globe Race in 1968–69. [ citation needed] The Insight team ran an investigation into Kim Philby, the Soviet double agent, that ran on 1 October 1967 under the headline "Philby: I spied for Russia from 1933. " [ citation needed] Insight carried out a major investigation in 1972 into Bloody Sunday in Northern Ireland. [ citation needed] The newspaper published the faked Hitler Diaries (1983), believing them to be genuine after they were authenticated by historian Hugh Trevor-Roper. [ citation needed] Israeli nuclear weapons: using information from Mordechai Vanunu, The Sunday Times in 1986 revealed that Israel had manufactured more than 100 nuclear warheads. On 12 July 1987 The Sunday Times began serialisation of the book Spycatcher, the memoirs of an MI5 agent, which had been banned in Britain. The paper successfully challenged subsequent legal action by the British government, winning its case at the European Court of Human Rights in 1991. [32] The paper ran a story [ when? ] claiming Queen Elizabeth II, who generally maintains a strictly impartial role politically, was upset with the style of Margaret Thatcher 's leadership. [ citation needed] In 1990, in what became known as the Arms-to-Iraq affair, the paper revealed how Matrix Churchill and other British firms were supplying arms to Saddam Hussein's Iraq. [ citation needed] Over two years in the early 1990s, The Sunday Times published a series of articles rejecting the role of HIV in causing AIDS, calling the African AIDS epidemic a myth. In response, the scientific journal Nature described the paper's coverage of HIV/AIDS as "seriously mistaken, and probably disastrous. " [33] Nature argued that the newspaper had "so consistently misrepresented the role of HIV in the causation of AIDS that Nature plans to monitor its future treatment of the issue. " [34] In 1992, the paper published extracts from Andrew Morton 's book, Diana: Her True Story in Her Own Words, which revealed for the first time the disastrous state of her marriage to Prince Charles. [ citation needed] Also in 1992, the paper agreed to pay David Irving, an author widely criticised for Holocaust denial, the sum of £75, 000 to authenticate the Goebbels diaries and edit them for serialisation. [35] The deal was quickly cancelled after drawing strong international criticism. In its “ cash for questions ” investigation in 1994, Graham Riddick, MP for Colne Valley and David Tredinnick, MP for Bosworth, accepted cheques for £1, 000 each from an Insight journalist posing as a businessman in return for tabling a parliamentary question. The investigation followed information that some MPs were taking one-off payments to table questions. [36] Under the headline, "KGB: Michael Foot was our agent", The Sunday Times ran an article on 19 February 1995 that claimed the Soviet intelligence services regarded Foot, a former leader of the Labour Party, as an "agent of influence", codenamed "Agent Boot"", and that he had been in the pay of the KGB for many years. The article was based on the serialisation of the memoirs of Oleg Gordievsky, a former high-ranking KGB officer who defected from the Soviet Union to Britain in 1985. Crucially, the newspaper used material from the original manuscript of the book which had not been included in the published version. Foot successfully sued, winning "substantial" damages. [37] In 1997–98, the paper ran a series of exclusive stories based on revelations from Richard Tomlinson, a former MI6 spy, about life inside MI6 and secret MI6 operations around the world. [ citation needed] During the siege of the United Nations compound in East Timor in 1999, the paper's foreign reporter, Marie Colvin was one of only three journalists (all women) who remained to the end with the 1, 500 people trapped there. She reported their plight both in The Sunday Times and in interviews on radio and television and was widely credited with saving their lives. [38] In 2003, The Sunday Times published confidential Whitehall documents revealing the names of more than 300 people who had declined New Years, Queens Birthday and Dissolution honours (i. e. knighthoods, damehoods, etc. ) [ citation needed] In 2006, in an investigation that became known as Cash for Honours, The Sunday Times revealed how several prominent figures nominated for life peerages by the then prime minister, Tony Blair, had loaned large amounts of money to the Labour Party at the suggestion of Lord Levy, a Labour Party fundraiser. In mid-2009, the newspaper ran a series of articles revealing how politicians were abusing the expenses system. [39] Between 2004 and 2010, the newspaper ran an award-winning investigation by Brian Deer which revealed that research by Andrew Wakefield into the MMR vaccine was fraudulent. The investigation led to Wakefield being banned from medicine, and the retraction of his research from The Lancet. In January 2010, The Sunday Times published an article by Jonathan Leake, alleging that a figure in the IPCC Fourth Assessment Report was based on an "unsubstantiated claim". The story attracted worldwide attention. However, a scientist quoted in the same article later stated that the newspaper story was wrong and that quotes of him had been used in a misleading way. [40] Following an official complaint to the Press Complaints Commission, [40] The Sunday Times retracted the story and apologised. [41] [42] In March 2010, undercover reporters from The Sunday Times Insight team filmed members of parliament agreeing to work for a fictitious lobbying firm for fees of £3, 000-£5, 000 a day. One of those implicated, Stephen Byers, described himself as "sort of like a cab for hire". [43] In October 2010, an investigation by the newspaper exposed corruption within FIFA after a member of the association's committee which grants the World Cup guaranteed his vote to an undercover reporter after requesting £500, 000 for a "personal project". [24] In 2011, the paper broke what became known as the Cash for Influence scandal; it revealed that Adrian Severin, Ernst Strasser, Pablo Zalba Bidegain and Zoran Thaler tried to influence EU legislation in exchange for promised money. Both Strasser and Thaler resigned in March 2011. [44] In March 2012, the paper filmed Peter Cruddas, the co-treasurer of the Conservative Party, offering access to David Cameron, the prime minister, in return for donations of £250, 000 ($400, 000). Cruddas resigned several hours later. Cameron said: "What happened was completely unacceptable. This is not the way we raise money in the Conservative Party. " [45] In September 2012, Jonathan Leake published an article in The Sunday Times under the headline "Only 100 adult cod in North Sea". [46] This figure was later shown by a BBC article to be wildly incorrect. [47] The newspaper published a correction, apologising for an over simplification in the headline, which had referred to a fall in the number of fully mature cod over the age of 13, thereby indicating this is the breeding age of cod. In fact, as the newspaper subsequently pointed out, cod can start breeding between the ages of four and six, in which case there are many more mature cod in the North Sea. In January 2013, the seven-times Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong confessed to having used performance-enhancing drugs during each of his Tour victories. The confession ended years of denials about allegations of cheating during most of the cyclist's professional career. The Sunday Times chief sports writer David Walsh had spent over a decade investigating Armstrong, his team, and the systematic doping rife in the sport. The newspaper was forced to pay Armstrong £300, 000 in damages in 2006 after he sued it for libel. Following Armstrong's lifelong ban (and subsequent televised confession) The Sunday Times said it would sue him to recover the damages, plus interest and costs, for the original proceedings which it called "baseless and fraudulent". [48] In January 2013, The Sunday Times published a Gerald Scarfe caricature depicting Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu cementing a wall with blood and Palestinians trapped between the bricks. The cartoon sparked an outcry, compounded by the fact that its publication coincided with International Holocaust Remembrance Day, and was condemned by the Anti-Defamation League. [49] After Rupert Murdoch tweeted that he considered it a "grotesque, offensive cartoon" and that Scarfe had "never reflected the opinions of The Sunday Times " [50] the newspaper issued an apology. [51] Journalist Ian Burrell, writing in The Independent, described the apology as an "indication of the power of the Israel lobby in challenging critical media coverage of its politicians" and one that questions Rupert Murdoch's assertion that he does not "interfere in the editorial content of his papers". [52] In June 2014, the Insight team at The Sunday Times published a front-page story "Plot to buy the World Cup" that detailed how Qatar used secret slush funds to make dozens of payments totalling more than $5m to senior officials at FIFA to ensure the country won enough votes to secure hosting rights to the 2022 FIFA World Cup. [53] The revelation prompted calls for Qatar to be stripped of the World Cup. [54] The reporting by Jonathan Calvert and Heidi Blake won numerous awards, including the Paul Foot Award. [55] It also formed the basis for the book by Calvert and Blake, published by Simon and Schuster, The Ugly Game. [56] In June 2015, The Sunday Times ran a lead front article titled "British spies betrayed to Russians and Chinese". The article was controversial because it contained numerous unlikely and unsubstantiated claims. Shortly after publication parts of the online version of the article were changed quietly by the newspaper. The article appeared to be an attempt to smear the American Whistleblower Edward Snowden, thus fuelling further doubt as to its independent editorship. [57] [58] [59] In August 2019, The Sunday Times received the leaked Operation Yellowhammer file about preparations for a No Deal Brexit. [60] Phone hacking scandal [ edit] In July 2011, The Sunday Times was implicated in the wider News International phone hacking scandal which primarily involved the News of the World, a Murdoch tabloid newspaper published in the UK from 1843 to 2011. Former British prime minister Gordon Brown accused The Sunday Times of employing "known criminals" to impersonate him and obtain his private financial records. [61] [62] Brown's bank reported that an investigator employed by The Sunday Times repeatedly impersonated Brown to gain access to his bank account records. [63] The Sunday Times vigorously denied these accusations and said that the story was in the public interest and that it had followed the Press Complaints Commission code on using subterfuge. Other editions [ edit] Irish edition [ edit] The Irish edition of The Sunday Times was launched on a small scale on 1993 with just two staff, Alan Ruddock and John Burns (who is at present associate editor). It used the slogan "The English just don't get it". [64] It is now the third biggest-selling newspaper in Ireland measured in terms of full-price cover sales (Source: ABC Jan–June 2012). Circulation had grown steadily to over 127, 000 in the two decades before 2012 but has declined since and currently stands at 60, 352 (Jan to Jun 2018). [65] [66] The paper is heavily editionalised, with extensive Irish coverage of politics, general news, business, personal finance, sport, culture and lifestyle. The office employs 25 people. The paper also has a number of well-known freelance columnists including Brenda Power, Liam Fay, Matt Cooper, Damien Kiberd, Jill Kerby and Stephen Price. The paper ended collaboration with Kevin Myers after it published a controversial column. The Irish edition has had four editors since it was set up: Alan Ruddock, Rory Godson, [67] Fiona McHugh [68] and, since 2005, Frank Fitzgibbon. [ citation needed] Scottish edition [ edit] For more than 20 years the paper has published a separate Scottish edition, which has been edited since January 2012 by Jason Allardyce. While most of the articles that run in the English edition appear in the Scottish edition, its staff also produces about a dozen Scottish news stories, including a front-page article, most weeks. The edition also contains a weekly "Scottish Focus" feature and Scottish commentary, and covers Scottish sport in addition to providing Scottish television schedules. The Scottish issue is the biggest-selling quality newspaper in the market, outselling both Scotland on Sunday and the Sunday Herald. Lawmakers from both parties blame companies like Facebook and Google for the struggles of local newspapers. Credit... Lynsey Weatherspoon for The New York Times Published Jan. 12, 2020 Updated Jan. 13, 2020 CORNELIA, Ga. — When a sport utility vehicle swerved out of its lane several weeks ago, slamming into a pickup truck and killing a teenager, a reporter from The Northeast Georgian raced to the scene. Within hours, the paper had posted the news on Facebook and updated it twice. It was shared by hundreds of people on the social network. The fatal wreck consumed the town of Cornelia, Ga., nestled near the Chattahoochee National Forest about 90 miles northeast of Atlanta. The Northeast Georgian was the first to report the news, but unless the people who shared its story on Facebook follow a link to its website, either to see an ad or to subscribe to its twice-weekly print edition, the paper won’t get paid. As with many small papers across the country, that business strategy is not working for The Northeast Georgian. The paper’s five employees do not just report and write. They also edit the articles, take photographs and lay out the newspaper. “My grandmother used to say, ‘Honey, if you let them get milk through the fence, they’ll never buy the cow, ’” said Dink NeSmith, chief executive of Community Newspapers Inc., which owns The Northeast Georgian and 23 other local papers. But the tough economics facing small newspapers like Mr. NeSmith’s has generated rare bipartisan agreement in Washington. Anger toward big technology companies has led to multiple antitrust investigations, calls for a new federal data privacy law and criticism of the companies’ political ad policies. Perhaps no issue about the tech companies, though, has united lawmakers in the Capitol like the decimation of local news. Lawmakers from both parties blame companies like Facebook and Google, which dominate the online ad industry. Senator Mitch McConnell, Republican of Kentucky and the majority leader, gave a big boost last week to a bill that may provide some papers a lifeboat. The proposal would give news organizations an exemption from antitrust laws, allowing them to band together to negotiate with Google and Facebook over how their articles and photos are used online, and what payments the newspapers get from the tech companies. (The bill is backed by the News Media Alliance, a trade group that represents news organizations including The New York Times Company. ) The proposal was sponsored by Representative Doug Collins, a conservative Georgia Republican whose district includes Cornelia. It was written by Representative David Cicilline, a liberal Democrat from Rhode Island. Senator John Kennedy, Republican of Louisiana, sponsored an identical version in the Senate. Prominent co-sponsors joined, including Democrats like Cory Booker of New Jersey and Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota, and Rand Paul, Republican of Kentucky. For the politicians, the issue is personal. They see news deserts in places where one or two local newspapers used to track their campaigns and official actions, keep local police departments and school boards accountable, and stitch together communities with big layouts on Main Street holiday parades and high school sports stars. “I am a free-markets guy and have fought against the idea that just because something is big it is necessarily bad, ” Mr. Collins said. “But look, I’m a politician and live with the media and see its importance. These big, disruptive platforms are making money off creators of content disproportionately. ” Facebook and Google declined to comment about the legislation. Representatives of the companies say their businesses have spent hundreds of millions of dollars on programs to bolster local journalism. The companies also work with news organizations to promote their articles and videos, driving traffic to their websites. Facebook recently announced partnerships with major news organizations, including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and CNN, that would see some of the publishers paid for the content they share. “We know this is a challenging time for journalism, ” Campbell Brown, Facebook’s vice president of global news partnerships, said in a statement. “And we are working closely with publishers to find new ways to address those challenges. ” A Google spokeswoman said, “Every month, Google News and Google Search drive over 24 billion visits to publishers’ websites, which drive subscriptions and significant ad revenue. ” Newspapers have faced devastating financial losses for years. One in five newspapers has closed since 2004 in the United States, and about half of the nation’s more than 3, 000 counties have only one newspaper, many of them printing weekly, according to a report by the University of North Carolina published in late 2018. In the last year alone, Facebook and Google added tens of thousands of employees and reported billions of dollars in profits. Take Mr. Collins’s district in northern Georgia. The Atlanta Journal Constitution, the state’s biggest newspaper, has cut its staff by half in the past eight years. In Mr. Collins’s hometown, The Gainesville Times, one of the biggest papers in its region, cut its weekly print publication schedule to five days from seven a year ago. The demand for local news remains. One day shortly after the fatal car crash, all of the discussion at Fender’s Diner, a 1950s-inspired eatery in Cornelia, was about the victim and allegations that the woman behind the wheel of the S. U. V. had been drinking. “I care more about the people who walk through my front door of my place and the issues that matter to them than anything going on in Washington, ” said Bradley Cook, the owner of the restaurant. Many local leaders say the power of local newspapers was on display recently in Jesup, in southeastern Georgia. One of Mr. NeSmith’s papers in the area, The Press Sentinel in Wayne County, discovered that an Arizona-based company backed by wealthy investors, including Bill Gates, had quietly applied to dump 10, 000 tons of coal ash per day in Jesup. The paper published more than 70 articles about the application, and Mr. NeSmith wrote several editorials. The attention led to public hearings, and the company, Republic Services, to delay its plans. Many officials also say that without robust local coverage, they are constantly fighting against misinformation that spreads on social media. After the Board of Commissioners in Habersham County, Ga., proposed a bond issue to expand the county jail, speculation spread online about the motivations for the project and the burden for taxpayers, said Stacy Hall, the board’s chairman. Voters defeated the proposal in November. “Disinformation on social media is our No. 1 problem, ” Mr. Hall said. “There is a crisis in getting the facts — the basic facts that only community newspapers can provide. ” The proposed antitrust exemption for news organizations still faces hurdles. Congress passed few bills of note in 2019 — and it may pass even fewer this year, in the face of impeachment and the November election. Conservative think tanks and some consumer groups are pushing back on the bill, wary of giving any antitrust exemptions to businesses. “Instead of trying to innovate and find solutions that way, ” said Neil Chilson, a senior research fellow for technology and innovation at the Charles Koch Institute, “they are trying to make better deals with people with more money, and that doesn’t solve their basic business-model problems. ” Supporters of the legislation said it was not a magic pill for profitability. It could, they say, benefit newspapers with a national reach — like The Times and The Washington Post — more than small papers. Facebook, for instance, has never featured articles from Mr. NeSmith’s newspaper chain in its “Today In” feature, an aggregation of local news from the nation’s smallest papers that can drive a lot of traffic to a news site. “It will start with larger national publications, and then the question is how does this trickle down, ” said Otis A. Brumby III, the publisher of The Marietta Daily Journal in Georgia. But the supporters say it could stop or at least slow the financial losses at some papers, giving them time to create a new business model for the internet. “The tech industry platforms benefit from our news, ” said Robin Rhodes, the executive director of the Georgia Press Association, which supports the proposal. “And we need to be on a level playing ground. ” Free online the times of bill cunningham books. 2019 ANYONE. 🤘 months. YouTube. Sur imdb imdb. Playmobil film wiki. Lmaffinity. I thought it was great but more importantly it holds the attention of my 4 year old, which most movies don't do. This film tells the adventure of two youngsters in Playmobil land.
The animation is good, and the story actually is quite fun. There are lots of fantasy themed lands, and they are visually appealing. I think it is a good adventure for young children. It is a pity that it will be in the shadow of "The Lego Movie. Lmamateur.

The film is directed by Disney veteran Lino DiSalvo, in his directorial debut, written by Blaise Hemingway, Greg Erb and Jason Oremland, and produced by On Animation Studios. The film stars the voices of Anya Taylor-Joy, Jim Gaffigan, Gabriel Bateman, Adam Lambert, Kenan Thompson, Meghan Trainor and Daniel Radcliffe. The film follows a girl named Marla who tries to save her brother from a Playmobil world the two are sucked into, and becomes involved in the midst of a population-capturing scheme by Emperor Maximus. Premiering as the opener of the June 2019 Annecy International Animated Film Festival, Playmobil: The Movie began theatrical runs in France on 7 August 2019 by Pathé, in the United Kingdom on 9 August 2019 by StudioCanal, and in the United States on 6 December 2019 by STXfilms. Playmobil: The Movie was panned by critics for being a perceived feature-length advertisement; most criticism was of the poor storytelling, generic songs, and worldbuilding problems, with several negative comparisons to The Lego Movie. It was also a box-office bomb, grossing $15 million on a $40 million budget, and in the United States had the worst opening weekend ever for a film playing in over 2, 300 theaters. [6] Plot [ edit] Marla is a formerly free-spirited girl who has grown up to be responsible yet overprotective in order to care for her brother Charlie, who has grown lonely and disconnected from her after the death of their parents. One night, Charlie sneaks out to visit a toy museum with a Playmobil exhibit. After Marla arrives and scolds Charlie for running away, a lighthouse illuminates them and transports them to the Playmobil world. Marla and Charlie find themselves in the middle of a Viking battle, and Charlie helps them until he is kidnapped by some pirates. Frantic to find her brother, Marla goes to the nearest town hoping to ask for help, and runs into Del, the driver of a food truck whose client refuses to pay him over pink hay that causes the town's horses to sprout wings. As Marla tries to form a posse to find Charlie, Del gets her out of trouble when she shows Viking gold to the whole town, and agrees to help Marla find her brother in exchange for the gold. Marla and Del run into Rex Dasher, a secret agent and an old friend of Del. Rex explains that a number of characters have disappeared, and the group sneaks into a villainous spy headquarters to find information about the disappearances. Despite some issues, they successfully gather the data and escape, but Rex is later captured by the pirates. He is taken away to Constantinopolis and finds Charlie, who had been locked up with other characters by Emperor Maximus, who intends to have the prisoners fight to their deaths. Rex tells Charlie that Marla had been looking for him, which encourages Charlie to break away. However, he later allows himself to be recaptured so the other characters could escape. Del recognizes that a device used by the pirates belongs to Glinara, an alien crime lord. After meeting with her in exchange for information, Del offers to pay twice as much as he owes her. Glinara agrees and reveals that she sold the device to Maximus. However, Del is unable to uphold his end of the bargain, as Marla only had two pieces of gold left. Angered, Glinara captures them and attempts to drop them into a portal, but they are spared by Glinara's robot servant Robotitron, who hacks the portal and drops the group into a forest. Del leaves the group, upset by Marla's deception. Marla and Robotitron get lost in the forest until Marla accidentally hits a fairy godmother, who encourages her to continue her search and sends her to Constantinopolis. Arriving at the city, Marla reaches a coliseum where Charlie is about to fight a Tyrannosaurus rex. Charlie and Marla work together to fight off the T-Rex, but to no avail. Del soon arrives with his food truck, and Marla uses the last of Del's pink hay to turn the T-Rex harmless. An enraged Maximus orders his guards to arrest them, but the guards reveal themselves to be Rex and the missing warriors, who then lock Maximus inside a cage. As everyone celebrates their victory, Marla and Charlie use the T-Rex to fly back to the lighthouse and return to the real world, where it is revealed that they were missing for only five minutes. On good terms, Marla promises to Charlie that their relationship will be mended. In a mid-credit scene, one of the security guards finds a figure of Maximus on the floor next to a cage. As he places him on top of Mount Olympus, Maximus's laugh is heard. Cast [ edit] Anya Taylor-Joy as Marla Brenner. Charlie's sister, who also voices Marla's Playmobil form. Lino DiSalvo cast Taylor-Joy for the "texture" of her voice, and described her performance as "believable and emotional. " [7] Gabriel Bateman as Charlie Brenner. Marla's brother, who also voices Charlie's Playmobil form. As DiSalvo explains, "when I met Gabriel, I totally saw a kid that Spielberg would cast. " [8] Ryan S. Hill plays a 6-year-old Charlie. Jim Gaffigan as Del. A food truck driver who supports himself with several side jobs and is Marla's best friend. Daniel Radcliffe as Rex Dasher. A secret agent who helps Marla. While normally reluctant to play spy roles in films, Radcliffe accepted the part of Dasher because "there is something incredibly fun about playing an unbelievably confident, kind of to the point of being an oblivious, person who is constantly undercut by other characters who make him realise that maybe he's not as smooth as he thinks he. " [9] As he explained on The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show, "Rex Dasher is a Playmobil version of James Bond. There's a ridiculous thing that will sound suitably ridiculous to your listeners, because they know that it would be ridiculous for me to play James Bond in real life. But because I have an English accent I go to America, a lot of people think and say something to the effect of, 'You should be James Bond. ' And I say, 'No, you're wrong. ' So the chance to play Playmobil James Bond was like, 'That seems a little more my speed. '" [10] On an April 2019 airing of The Graham Norton Show, Radcliffe displayed a figure of Dasher that was sent to him by the director. [11] Adam Lambert as Emperor Maximus. The tyrannical ruler of Constatinopolis. Heavily playing with Playmobil figures as a kid, Lambert stated that enjoyed playing the part: "He's an obnoxious, ridiculous, comical bad guy. [... ] He's got like Napoleon complex, he's incredibly narcissistic. He loves the sound of his own voice. He's spoiled. He's a brat. And he usually gets his way. " [12] He explained that he played the character as himself "on a really bad day, " and said performing the musical number was his favorite part of working on Playmobil. [13] Kenan Thompson as Bloodbones A pirate captain. In addition to the role's Broadway-level singing demands, the nasal-y-voiced Thompson also had to perform his lines in a guttural tone, which gave him a "headache. " [14] Meghan Trainor as The Fairy Godmother. An unnamed fairy godmother who Marla encounters in a forest. It was Trainor's childhood dream to play a fairy character, but also a very difficult task: "I’ve never smiled so hard in my life to make this girl happy and I was jumping up and down. " [15] Trainor's involvement in Playmobil: The Movie began while writing "Run Like The River" for her album Treat Myself. "I remember meeting someone who was like, this should be in the movie, " explained Trainor; and a week later, she presented the song to DiSalvo: "It looked like it blew his mind. " [15] Lino DiSalvo as Robotitron. A robot employed by Glinara. Maddie Taylor as Glinara. An alien crime lord. Kirk Thornton as Ook Ook Dan Navarro as Viking Leader Paloma Michelle as Valera, an Amazon warrior. [16] Spike Spencer [17] Production [ edit] Development [ edit] An animated feature film based on Playmobil figurines, produced by On Entertainment, Wild Bunch and Pathé, was announced in November 2014 and originally expected to be released at the end of 2017. [18] The film originally involved Bob Persichetti as director and screenwriter. The film would be the first in a trilogy of theatrical animated films based on Playmobil. Persichetti initially pitched the film to Sony Pictures Animation. Although Sony tried to buy the pitch, it fell through. He was eventually offered instead to direct the 2018 superhero film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. [19] The film was animated in On Animation's Canadian facilities. The film was also originally supposed to be distributed by Cross Creek Pictures. [20] ON Animation's producers acquired the rights for the film circa January 2016. [21] On 9 February 2016, Lino DiSalvo came on board to direct the $75 million budgeted film, replacing Persichetti. Dimitri Rassam and Aton Soumache of On Animation Studios produced the film. [22] [23] On 12 May 2016, Open Road Films acquired the US rights to the film, whose screenplay was written by Blaise Hemingway. It marks DiSalvo's directorial debut after spending 17 years at Walt Disney Animation Studios. Alexis Vonarb, Axel Von Maydell, and Moritz Borman also produced the film. [24] Maydell was first associated with the Playmobil brand fifteen years before the film's release, when he was involved in producing interactive games for the company. [25] Heitor Pereira 's involvement was announced on 21 June 2017. [26] On 17 November 2017, it was reported that Wendi McLendon-Covey would star in the film. [27] In June 2018, the film's production was underway and some details of the film were revealed, during a session at Annecy International Animated Film Festival. [28] In October 2018, lead voice cast was announced which included Anya Taylor-Joy, Gabriel Bateman, Daniel Radcliffe, Jim Gaffigan, Meghan Trainor, and Adam Lambert, while Trainor and Lambert would also write and sing original songs for the film. [29] Writing [ edit] DiSalvo instantly got to work on animatics following Open Road's acquisition, completing five animatics in Los Angeles in Montreal before work on the assets began. [21] The first 15 months of the film's production was spent in Los Angeles, with a crew of ten people. When the project moved to Montreal, 300 people ("more than half of the animation crew at a typical Disney movie") were involved. [21] Both DiSalvo and Hemingway, long-time friends, re-watched their favorite 1980s films like E. T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982) in writing Playmobil; Hemingway explained that both the movie and the old-school films they referenced knew "how to find what is magical in the most mundane situations. " [30] The producers wanted to capture a child's emotion of playing with toys with Playmobil, [25] which meant DiSolvo had to research. He interviewed more than 200 fans of Playmobil from across the globe, [31] finding that the toy series was mostly enjoyed for its role play element, where "they don’t tell you who the hero is — the player defines who the hero is. " [21] Thus, he went for a role-playing vibe in writing the film's story. [21] DiSalvo also revisited his childhood home to look at the toys he played with as a kid. [32] The German Playmobil company also sent every Playmobil set ever released to the Los Angeles development location, and the writers used them to conceive characters. A food truck and a figure wearing a Hawaiian shirt, for instance, led to the creation of Del. [31] Initially, the writers planned Playmobil: The Movie to start with either a shot of an opening storybook or a narration, similar to most fairy tale movies. These ideas were rejected due to not being "organic" enough for the overall product. [21] They finally chose to have opening and closing live-action sequences: "Marla, has lost touch with the child’s point of view that she used to have. It felt right to show her in a live-action world where there is no magic. When she finds herself in a very magical situation — which is the entrance to the world of Playmobil, it becomes the catalyst for the whole movie. " [21] Animation [ edit] Playmobil: The Movie was animated with Autodesk Maya. [33] Julien Bocabeille supervised the film's animation team that consisted of 56 animators. [34] Being that Playmobil: the Movie was a story about wish fulfillment, the scale was one of the biggest priorities. According to production designer Rémi Salmon: "We see those toys from a kid's eyes, not what he has in front of him but what he imagines. The pirate in his hand has a stiff plastic cape, but when he plays, he sees the cape floating in the wind. " [21] The animators' biggest challenges came in the set designs and character animation. [34] While each Playmobil universe varied in tone and lighting due to their differing styles, they had to have some consistences with the Playmobil world. [34] The Fifth Element and the works of J. J. Abrams were influences in designing the city of Glinara. [35] Having "a touch of richness and life" in the film's Playmobil world depended on not just the lighting being "pushed pretty far in a very cinematographic way;" but also the characters, particularly their movements and textures. [21] While not entirely animated like humans and having plastic hair and skin, the toys were given "a 20 percent freedom to bend and stretch" and wrote actually cloth-made attire for close-up shots. [21] The animators had to work with limits that came with moving the Playmobil figures, especially when it came to animating faces. The faces are 2D shapes imposed onto 3D heads, meaning that big parts of how human faces are expressed (cheekbones, nose and jaws) are not present. [34] Coming up with a convenient workflow for animating 2D faces on 3D objects was another challenge, which Jeremy Ringard and Claude Levastre was responsible for. They first came up with the idea of modeling and rigging the features as 3D shapes, but this lead to problems of Z-fighting, intersection and "floating" appearances in close-up shots. [36] They then thought of a "texture flipbook" where the animators chose from a set of facial features in order to keep the look of the movie consistent; however, they figured that it would disallow any variations to the expressions and be very expensive due to the amount of storage, texture resolution and file management involved. [33] Finally, they came up with a system where the animators used 3D-rig-controlled 2D shapes that were converted as a dynamic texture applied on the 3D head in the viewport, and the animation would be rendered real-time through a shader free of resolution or sampling restrictions. [33] The car Dasher drives is a Porsche Mission E, the 2015 concept version of the Porsche Taycan; Playmobil is the Porsche's first appearance in a major film, and a remote-controlled Mission E toy was released as a movie tie-in. [37] Themes and style [ edit] Today, we have so many cynical movies and TV shows out there, but I wanted to make a movie about a family coming together. Hopefully, parents and their kids will feel the same way about the movie, and appreciate the truthfulness of Playmobil as we tried to explore the wonderful truth that’s in these toys. —  DiSalvo on the purpose of Playmobil: The Movie. [21] Many of us have seen James Bond 's films, Clint Eastwood 's spaghetti westerns, and cloak and sword films as children. When we started to talk about moving from one genre to another, we ended up like kids playing with their Playmobil in the living room! —  Playmobil producer Tito Ortiz [38] According to DiSolvo, the moral of Playmobil: The Movie is, "The only rules that matter are the ones you set. " [39] As Nick Hasted of The Arts Desk categorized Playmobil, "it’s a breezy B-movie in a genre aspiring to Mad comic satire and grand opera;" with a "unpretentious good nature" a la 1980s and 1990s after-school specials. [40] Due to Playmobil being set in a world filled with different universes, the film caricaturizes and plays with the tropes of several genres, including western films, fantasy, science fiction, and musicals. [32] In acknowledging inevitable comparisons to The Lego Movie, DiSalvo claimed, "The movie Lego relied a lot on comedy and wasn't so much driven by characters, while our film will follow more the Disney tradition of storytelling and is meant to appeal to girls as much as boys. " [28] According to Tito Ortiz, Playmobil is about the importance of forgiveness, tolerance, and unity in broken families. [38] DiSalvo also described Playmobil: The Movie as similar to the Tom Hanks film Big (1988), in that the main character has to think like a child to achieve her goal. [31] Its premise of two siblings being sucked into a fantastical setting also garnered comparisons by journalists to The Pagemaster (1994), [41] the Jumanji films, [41] and Pleasantville (1998); [42] while the use of a live-action opening and a brother-and-sister relationship was also in The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part (2019). [41] [43] Some reviewers noted the shedding of gender roles in Playmobil, including Hasted: "When DiSalvo detours to Playmobil’s girl-focused range with the arrival of Meghan Trainor’s tattooed fairy godmother and pink flying horses, Marla’s brisk bravery muddles gender stereotypes with similar irreverence. " [40] Caroline Siede honored the film's "Be anything you want to be" message for allowing Marla to be any type of character regardless of her gender, [41] and Charlotte O'Sullivan of the Evening Standard called her a better Susan Pevensie: "Though interested in lipstick, and keen on being grown-up, she is never dismissed as silly or vain. " [44] One NBC News review noted Dasher's "pointed jabs about sexist archetypes. " [45] Soundtrack [ edit] "Run Like the River" was released as a promotional single on 26 July 2019 from the film's soundtrack album, which was released on 2 August 2019. [46] Release and promotion [ edit] Playmobil: The Movie premiered as the opener of the 2019 Annecy festival, which ran from 10–15 June 2019. [47] As reported by Cartoon Brew, it "was widely criticized by festival attendees and caused large numbers of the audience to leave in the middle of the film. " [48] On 17 June, CineEurope presented a trailer and a clip of Playmobil. [49] Playmobil: The Movie had its first trailer released on 16 December 2018, with a release date set for 16 August 2019. [42] The second trailer was unleashed on 23 July 2019, the release date changed to 22 November. [50] [51] Each trailer present a different premise: the first presented the film as focusing on Marla trying to save his brother in a Playmobil. [42] while the second revealed the live-action segments and depicted it as being about Rex Dasher saving the Playmobil population from a secret organization. [52] Ben Pearson of /Film noted that the marketing strategy "trie[d] to shield its actual plot. " [52] He also called the film's animation promising: "While the characters are clearly simplified to match the Playmobil toys that inspired them, the animation looks pretty slick and there's some interesting lighting going on in a few of the shots on display here. " [52] Chris Evangelista of /Film wrote upon the first trailer's release, "It's pretty clear that Playmobil: The Movie is skewing to a young audience [... ] And while this may seem like a cynical cash-grab, many people felt the same way before the first LEGO Movie came out, until the final results proved to be surprisingly enjoyable. Maybe Playmobil will manage to do the same. " [42] CNET, also responding to the trailer, opined that "It looks fun and hopefully will boast the same universal appeal as the Lego Movie. " [53] Commenting on the second trailer, Screen Rant writer Mike Jones felt the humor had its "own charm and feel" despite being comparable to The Lego Movie: "there does appear to be a decent amount of fun, laughs and adventure on display. " [50] However, he also questioned the scheduling of "such a small scale" production being scheduled in a season having to compete with Jumanji: The Next Level and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. [50] Collider 's coverage of the second trailer was ecstatic, noting its "fun" factor and opining it had the same meta humor style as The Lego Movie. [54] Sarah El-Mahmoud of Cinema Blend summarized, "the trailer showcases tons of fun action sequences with fast car chases, dinosaurs, and scared squirrels. ] One has to wonder if a connection to human kids will also be present in this movie as The LEGO Movie and Toy Story do. " However, with the awareness that the film was trying to capitalize on the fame of The Lego Movie, she also had skepticism toward its success due to the weak box office of The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part. [55] A PopSugar journalist claimed, "damn, it looks good, " also showing enthusiasm for Radcliffe's appearance. [56] According to Geekspin, "a few people already have a hunch that the Playmobil movie will flop at the box office, " due to the superior popularity of Legos over Playmobil, and the film's lack of intellectual properties, and star power. [57] Playmobil: The Movie was released in France by Pathé on 7 August 2019, on 610 screens, and was released in the US by STX Entertainment on 6 December 2019. It was originally scheduled to be released in the United States by Open Road Films on 18 January 2019, [24] which was later delayed to 19 April 2019, [58] Due to the bankruptcy of Global Road, STX bought the U. S. distribution rights to the film in early April 2019, [59] and set the U. release date to 30 August 2019. On 5 August 2019, STX pushed the U. release date back once more to 6 December 2019, among other schedule changes of other films from STX that reportedly happened due to STX having limited cash flow, and wanting to pull their resources in to support Hustlers, although STX has denied that this was the case. [60] Upon its release in the United States on 6 December, STX reportedly encouraged theaters to offer tickets to all showings of the film for just US$5, a significantly lower cost than most American movie tickets. [61] The film news site Moviehole also gave away ten family passes of Playmobil. [62] In other territories, Playmobil was released to theaters in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Switzerland on 7 August 2019; [63] [64] [65] Bolivia and Israel on 8 August 2019; [66] [67] the United Kingdom on 9 August 2019, [68] Mexico and South Africa on 16 August 2019; [69] [70] Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Panama, Honduras, and Slovakia on 22 August 2019; [71] [72] [73] [74] [75] Germany, Singapore, and Thailand on 29 August 2019; [76] [77] [78] Poland on 23 August 2019; [79] Austria, Indonesia, Spain, and Venezuela on 30 August 2019; [80] [81] [82] [83] Egypt and the Philippines on 4 September 2019; [84] [85] Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, the Dominican Republic, and the United Arab Emirates on 5 September 2019; [86] [87] [88] [89] [90] [91] [92] [93] South Korea on 11 September 2019; [94] Czech Republic, Malaysia, Paraguay, and Uruguay on 12 September 2019; [95] [96] [97] [98] Iceland on 13 September 2019; [99] Bulgaria and Sweden on 20 September 2019; [100] [101] Hungary on 26 September 2019; [102] Finland and Romania on 27 September 2019; [103] [104] Portugal on 3 October 2019; [105] Ecuador on 4 October 2019; [106] Argentina on 10 October 2019; [107] Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia on 25 October 2019; [108] [109] [110] Colombia on 7 November 2019; [111] and Australia on 12 December 2019. [112] In Australia, Seven Network 's show Sunrise promoted it with a giveaway where two winners received a Playmobil Prize Pack for both tickets to the film and toy sets. [112] The Sunday Times ran a contest where five people could enter to win tickets, with one of them winning an Instax mini-camera in addition. [113] On 4 February 2020, Playmobil: The Movie VR Adventures, a virtual reality video game, will be released on Steam. [114] Reception [ edit] Box office [ edit] Playmobil: The Movie has grossed $1. 1 million in the United States and Canada, and $14. 3 million in other territories, for a worldwide total of $15. 4 million. [4] [5] In France, Playmobil opened to 604 theaters before performing at a maximum of 683 in its third week; it opened at number five with an opening weekend ground of $963, 910, and by the end of its seven-week run, it grossed a total of $2, 627, 246. [115] In the United States, Playmobil: The Movie opened in 2, 300 theaters; [116] industry experts predicted the film would have a three-day opening gross of around $905, 000 [117] and would likely become a box office bomb. [118] Preview screenings on 4 December and 5 December were very low, 4 December totaling around $40, 000 and 5 December $230, 000. [3] As The A. V. Club summarized, "STX is dropping it into U. theaters the weekend after Thanksgiving without press screenings, giving it the authentic discount-bin appearance of a toy store going out of business. " [119] [120] The US marketing budget was limited to roughly $3 million, [121] RelishMix reporting a lack of social promotion of any of its stars except for one tweet from Trainor. [3] STX set the marketing money this low due to the film's poor international box office. [122] Boxoffice Pro analyzed the film "would open just two weeks after Frozen II, one week before Jumanji: The Next Level, two weeks before Star Wars: The Rise of the Skywalker, and less than three weeks before Spies in Disguise — all of which are shoe-ins to attract young audiences and dwarf potential interest in PLAYMOBIL. " [123] According to STX president Kevin Grayson, "This is a 52-week-a -year business and we were looking for an opportunity to utilize the early December play date. " [122] According to Deadline Hollywood, Playmobil was released only weeks after Frozen II and used a variable pricing strategy where STX and many theater chains offered $5 tickets. [3] Originally projected to gross $600, 000–$800, 000 on its opening day, Playmobil grossed just $167, 000, making it the third-worst opening day of all time for a 2, 000-plus theatre production, behind Delgo (2008) and The Oogieloves in the Big Balloon Adventure (2012); [121] fourth if counting the 2014 re-release of Saw (2004) and 24th if also including films with between 1, 000-1, 999 theaters. [124] [125] It went on to gross $660, 000 in its opening weekend (an average of $287 per-venue), the fourth-worst of all-time. [3] Shortly after the weekend, Grayson responded that STX would use variable pricing in their future projects: "we have already learned from this experiment. And we will continue to learn more and will tweak it for the future so it can be the benefit to the industry that we know it can be. " [122] While the film's several worldwide distributors recouped TV sale money, they also financed it via pre-sales and thus face losses. [122] Rebecca Rubin, a Variety writer, attributed the low box office to the Playmobil brand being far less popular than Lego. [122] Critical response [ edit] On Rotten Tomatoes, the film holds an approval rating of 16% based on 59 reviews, with an average rating of 3. 72/10. The site's critical consensus reads: "Much like the toys it advertises, Playmobil: The Movie seems sadly destined to be regarded as a superficially similar yet less desirable alternative to the competition. " [126] On Metacritic, the film has a weighted average score of 25 out of 100, based on 13 critics, indicating "generally unfavorable reviews". [127] Audiences polled by CinemaScore gave the film an average grade of "B+" on an A+ to F scale, while those at PostTrak gave it an average 1. 5 out of 5 stars, with 36% saying they would definitely recommend it to a friend. [3] In the PostTrak grade, adult audiences made up 31% of poll, children under 12 69%; the adult gave the film an average two-and-a-half stars, the kids under 12 around 3. 5 to four stars. [3] The New Zealand online publication Stuff named it "a strong contender for the worst film of 2019. " [128] Reviewers primarily criticized Playmobil: The Movie for being more of an advertisement than a compelling story that practiced its moral about being bold and adventurous. [129] [130] [131] [132] [133] [134] In a Rotten Tomatoes editorial, the site said critics generally called it "a regrettably mediocre outing that offers little aside from a barrage of colorful images and a brisk but ultimately generic and uninspired story. " [135] As, calling it "the worst animation of the year so far, " put it, "the story is boring, the characters are utterly unlikeable, and [... ] one is increasingly struck by the lack of anything new or interesting in the film whatsoever. Its lack of imagination or creativity is painful. " [136] A couple of reviews viewed it as part of a major problem of poorly-done toy films from Hollywood. [45] [131] Several reviews made negative comparisons to The Lego Movie, [132] [137] [133] [134] [138] such as a Variety review by Day Lodge that summarized Playmobil: The Movie as The Lego Movie "but without that blockbuster's dizzy, self-aware wit and visual invention. " [130] Nell Minow wrote that "it does not even work as a commercial, never showing us why these toys could be especially fun to play with, " and called the settings and toys "bland and generic. " [139] Some critics found it way too safe for a film about imagination, [133] [43] including Katherine McLaughlin of The List: "The references are simply too familiar to excite, as it coasts along on nostalgia and a well-worn formula. " [43] According to The Observer, " Playmobil shamelessly steals ideas. This eyesore of a cash-in lifts plot elements from Thor and Jumanji, then thinly threads them together with a few songs and shrill mantra about the need for adventure. " [140] Multiple errors in worldbuilding were spotted by critics, [141] such as its odd mixture of replications of historical and fictional settings; [142] and the overly-realistic textures [142] and movements of the Playmobil figures. [143] [139] As Minow explained, "After a whole scene establishing the limited mobility of the Playmobil characters, they suddenly switch to being able to have human-like joints and range of motion. " [139] Clariss Loughrey asked, "Shouldn’t everything be plastic? Then why do the horses have fur? " [142] Yolanda Machado noted, "Marla can’t figure out how to walk without the use of knees and yet, a minute later, she’s running. " [141] Maryann Johanson noticed even more issues with the figure movements: "A big joke is made out of how Marla, in her Playmobil body, can't walk because she has no knees... and then knees inexplicably appear and she can walk fine. Everyone has elbows, too, which the toy figures also don't have. And everyone is stuck with those clamshell hands, yet are still able to manipulate chopsticks. " [144] As Paul Whitington felt, "the themed kingdoms they visit only seem to have been chosen because Playmobil do toys based on these scenarios: sometimes, as in the wild west sequence, they are passed through virtually without comment. " [145] The live-action sequences also garnered some derision; [134] one reviewer opined it felt "like something out of an ‘80s movie, " [45] while another panned the sequence's stiff direction. [40] Salt Lake City Weekly called all of the film's concepts "all pointlessly random and head-smackingly dumb, even when it sounds on paper like it might be funny. " [146] According to Machado, Playmobil: The Movie suffered from storytelling "whiplash, " using the "mishmash of odd characters" and the sudden death of the main characters' parents as examples. [141] The A. Club criticised the choppy plot and erratic pace, reasoning it made Playmobil: The Movie "poorly conceived at every story turn, unable to even stick to a particular generic message to make up for its extremely basic humor. " [147] The film's hurried speed also came up in a Radio Times review that stated it "never stops long enough to make its story memorable. " [148] Lodge wrote the film had so little amusement it was absent of sight gags, [130] while Minow bashed the inclusion of parental death as too dark for a kid's film. [139] An RTÉ review called its emotional moments "heavy-handed and forced, " and criticized the parents' death as "solely a plot device for the sake of plot device. " [149] The songs were also called forgettable, generic, and "terrible" by several journalists; [139] [134] [130] [41] [136] one wrote that they "have remarkably little melodic staying power, " [130] and another analyzed, "there’s no chorus and the characters simply just say things to a tune. " [142] However, some reviewers did highlight Taylor-Joy's singing on the opening number. [142] [41] Playmobil: The Movie wasn't without supporting reviewers. Siede was appreciative towards the "low-key, non-judgmental" writing of the film, praising it for being more "heartfelt and earnest" than other "crass and cheap" offerings usual for children's flicks. [41] O'Sullivan summarized, "for a movie so clearly doubling as product placement, it’s also fun, a cartoon (bookended by live-action sequences) which allows talented actors to riff on unexpected themes. " She called the characters of Del and Rex "properly funny. " [44] Most admirations came towards the characters and performances, especially Radcliffe's voice-acting, [142] [40] [43] the campy villain Emperor Maximus, [45] [150] [142] [40] and Taylor-Joy's acting. [43] [40] Hasted opined, "Taylor-Joy’s tendency towards introverted, perhaps dangerous outsiders [... ] finds little outlet in mostly mild Marla, but still makes her harassed heroine warmly sympathetic. Playmobil films. Playmobil filme. Streaming. Playmobil filmpjes. This is not the best or worst movie out there.
Only flaw I found is that it tries to be part Lego movie (story seems to be modelled after that with the live action movie bookends etc. part Disney movie (bright colours, musical numbers, parents are killed off at the beginning) but it never reaches the peak of any of those.
But it is a nice movie to pass the time with the kids who liked it.

Marla and Charlie travel from the real world on an adventure to the Playmobil universe where they re-enact their favourite toys.
Very children-focussed with only a few laughs for grown-ups and those gags that do work tend to get over-played. The story is OK but Charlie and Marla both spend too long being lost and needy. The voicing and animation is good. The design of the Playmobil realm was nicely done but the portal into it was unimaginative.
I liked, Rex Dasher.

I'm here for Jaeden squad, where you at. I wonder, If Steven hadn't used the delorean for his movies, would delorean have been remembered? naaahh. I personally think Jesse is the hero of the show. Fucking brutal band and an epic song. love it thanks for the upload bro. Yes, turn that signal off. Que Sonido tan crudo y feroz :3 🏃. The new cujo. My first thought: wattpad.

2:35 she cant wait to be part of a family who looks at her with hate lol. WHAT YOU DONT FUN ANYMORE. 0:03 oh. Foxes with rabies often become very aggressive toward humans, and will viciously attack without warning. I'm glad the person who shot this video wasn't attacked, but be very careful if you see a fox acting in this manner. It is best to avoid them, and cal animal control. The drooling part proves it has rabies. Just watched this one, and it's actually not bad at all! classic teen horror, has vibes of early 2000s, just don't expect anything extraordinary. 0:06 imagine animal would landed on someone's face like surprise mothafuka 🤣. The 1977 original is still a gory favourite of mine so I was quite keen to see this remake.
Whilst not perfect by any means it's not as bad as some of the one star reviews its garnered here. The film tips its hat to Cronenberg. Theres even a funny homage to his other movie Dead Ringers. There's far worse contemporary horror films floating about than this.

Your description is beautiful. Just cried my eyes out, poor thing. This game was amazing as a titans fan. I've got Pepper Spray. Well I've got a gun in my pants... What is the cause of rabbies though i mean we all know its spread because of other contact but what the hell started the shid. A good core, but distant and very poorly consolidated. This movie is a mix of extremes; feeling severely detached at times and gripping just moments after. This movie should have either gone big (pandemic wise) or remained contained for more intense drama and focus. it lost its essence by going somewhere in between. I think it looks really cool. Love creature features/demons/ghosts/supernatural beings. you get picture. NOW SCARE ME.

Lieutenant sir! Why are we here? It's zombies again ~every Resident Evil game.

summary Who would have thought that only moments after arriving at Rome for their honeymoon, the young and pure bride, Wanda, would sneak out of the room, leaving her fastidious groom, Ivan, all alone? Obsessed with the masculine Fernando Rivoli--the hero of her favourite romantic photo-novel, The White Sheik--Wanda plucks up the courage to meet him in person, only to be seduced by the arrogant protagonist, so far away from the hotel and her husband. As a result--perplexed by Wanda's strange disappearance, and unable to disclose the news to his family--Ivan meanders through the ill-lit Roman streets in search of his wife, on pins and needles, waiting for their eleven o'clock appointment with his uncle and the Papal Audience at the Vatican. What does the new day have in store for the separated newlyweds?

The introduction of new Characters both good and bad also makes the movie more exciting. giving the characters more of a back story can also help audiences relate more to different characters better, and it connects a bond between the audience and actors or characters. Having seen the movie three times does not bother me here as it is as thrilling and exciting every time I am watching it. In other words, the movie is by far better than previous movies (and I do love everything Marvel), the plotting is splendid (they really do out do themselves in each film, there are no problems watching it more than once. Just about as good as the first one! 17 December 2016 by hawaiipierson Avengers Age of Ultron is an excellent sequel and a worthy MCU title! There are a lot of good and one thing that feels off in my opinion. THE GOOD: First off the action in this movie is amazing, to buildings crumbling, to evil blue eyed robots tearing stuff up, this movie has the action perfectly handled. And with that action comes visuals. The visuals are really good, even though you can see clearly where they are through the movie, but that doesn't detract from the experience. While all the CGI glory is taking place, there are lovable characters that are in the mix. First off the original characters, Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow, and Hawkeye, are just as brilliant as they are always. And Joss Whedon fixed my main problem in the first Avengers by putting in more Hawkeye and him more fleshed out. Then there is the new Avengers, Quicksilver, Scarletwich, and Vision, they are pretty cool in my opinion. Vision in particular is pretty amazing in all his scenes. THE BAD: The beginning of the film it's fine until towards the second act and there is when it starts to feel a little rushed. Also I do feel like there are scenes missing but there was talk of an extended version on Blu-Ray so that's cool. One of the most boring exepirences from watching a movie 26 March 2017 by christopherfreeman I can't right much... it's just so, from what I remember, I remember just sitting down on my seat and waiting for the movie to begin. 5 minutes into the movie, boring scene of Tony Stark just talking to his "dead" friends saying it's his fault. 10 minutes in: Boring scene of Ultron and Jarvis having robot space battles(I dunno:/). 15 minutes in: I leave the theatre. 2nd attempt at watching it: I fall asleep. What woke me up is the next movie on Netflix when the movie was over. Bottemline: It's boring... 10/10 because I'm a Marvel Fanboy That spirit of fun 26 March 2017 by juliawest If there were not an audience for Marvel comic heroes than clearly these films would not be made, to answer one other reviewer although I sympathize with him somewhat. The world is indeed an infinitely more complex place than the world of Marvel comics with clearly identifiable heroes and villains. But I get the feeling that from Robert Downey, Jr. on down the organizer and prime mover as Iron Man behind the Avengers these players do love doing these roles because it's a lot of fun. If they didn't show that spirit of fun to the audience than these films would never be made. So in that spirit of fun Avengers: Age Of Ultron comes before us and everyone looks like they're having a good time saving the world. A computer program got loose and took form in this dimension named Ultron and James Spader who is completely unrecognizable is running amuck in the earth. No doubt Star Trek fans took notice that this guy's mission is to cleanse the earth much like that old earth probe NOMAD which got its programming mixed up in that classic Star Trek prime story. Wouldst Captain James T. Kirk of the Enterprise had a crew like Downey has at his command. My favorite is always Chris Evans because of the whole cast he best gets into the spirit of being a superhero. Of all of them, he's already played two superheroes, Captain America and Johnny Storm the Human Torch. I'll be before he's done Evans will play a couple of more as long as the money's good and he enjoys it. Pretend you're a kid again and enjoy, don't take it so seriously. Impressive Special Effects and Cast 26 March 2017 by johnnylee The Avengers raid a Hydra base in Sokovia commanded by Strucker and they retrieve Loki's scepter. They also discover that Strucker had been conducting experiments with the orphan twins Pietro Maximoff (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), who has super speed, and Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen), who can control minds and project energy. Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr. ) discovers an Artificial Intelligence in the scepter and convinces Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) to secretly help him to transfer the A. I. to his Ultron defense system. However, the Ultron understands that is necessary to annihilate mankind to save the planet, attacks the Avengers and flees to Sokovia with the scepter. He builds an armature for self-protection and robots for his army and teams up with the twins. The Avengers go to Clinton Barton's house to recover, but out of the blue, Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) arrives and convinces them to fight against Ultron. Will they succeed? "Avengers: Age of Ultron" is an entertaining adventure with impressive special effects and cast. The storyline might be better, since most of the characters do not show any chemistry. However, it is worthwhile watching this film since the amazing special effects are not possible to be described in words. Why Pietro has to die is also not possible to be explained. My vote is eight. Wow, youve truly captured the essence of the film with all its delicacies and kept the beautiful dialogue intact ☺️ stunning work, well done 👍🏼. Portrait de la jeune fille en feu piano. Portrait de la jeune fille en feu amazon. What a wonderful movie. In my mind I am still walking on the beach with Marianne and Héloïse. The acting performance of the two leading actrices Noémi Merlant and Adèle Haenel is superb. There are also very beautiful woman to look at, especially Merlant is one of the most gorgeous looking actrices I have ever seen.
Although I am a hetero man, I was totally involved with the moving love affair between Marianne and Héloïse.
I did read a lot of reviews about this film, which were almost all very praising. And I was already enchanted after seeing the trailer at the cinema.
I went to see the movie in a very small theatre of a small cinema. But there was no seat anymore left for this true masterpiece. The public was very quiet during the presentation of the film. This is always a good sign. It is actually a shame that these kind of movies are not shown on a big stage. However, it is perhaps even better to see 'Portrait de la jeune fille en feu' in an intimate environment.
I was moved the whole way long, and especially the end was so strong and left me and a lot of people in tears.
This is by far the best movie that I did see this year 2019 (and it is already november. followed in my list of movies that I have seen at the cinema by 2) Green Book; 3) Roma; 4) Hors normes; 5) Dolor y gloria; 6) The Wild Pear Tree; 7) If Beale Street Could Talk; 8) Ad Astra; 9) Arctic; 10) Parasite. br> So leave your house and try to see this marvellous painting of a movie at the cinema, because the cinematography and beautiful 'painted shots' are so much better to admire there than at home.

Favourite part is 1:24 - 1:38, this track is absolutely beautiful and the movie is a masterpiece 💖🔥. Portrait de la jeune fille en feu vivaldi. I have seen the movie the end of September in France Portrait de la jeune fille en feu with Adèle Haenel and Noemie Merlant. Beautiful scenery, artistic photography but otherwise not interesting at all, sorry it was boring most of the rime. Some very cliche images like the baby in the scene the abortion or the mirror placed on a certain spot. in another scene. Embarrassing. Muita sensualidade sem vulgaridade. Simplesmente lindo! Nunca vi uma cena de beijo tão excitante. Parabéns à diretora e às atrizes. Amazing and Wonderful! Lovely.
